Today in science we did activities that had to do with problem solving. One way is to discuss how you're going to solve the problem and see if it makes sense and if you're working with more people to see if they agree with the strategy. Also if that plan doesn't work, you can always think of a new plan. Sometimes, just to be safe, I have a plan B. On e of the activities was Saving Fred. We had to try to get Fred ( The Gummy Worm) in to his life preserver. We had to work with a partner to do this. First my partner and I took two paper clips and lifted it up and got the life preserver away. Then we started stretching the preserver until it was wide enough for us to actually squeeze Fred in easily. This took a long time, but with perseverance we were able to do it! In the picture below is when we had to do a chopstick challenge. We worked with three people. After putting on a lot our tower kept on falling down! So one of my partners said not to worry about the height and to just put it on carefully.
The chart above shows my family's monthly water consumption. In August it was 72.8 cubic meters, in september it was 60.5 cubic meters, in October it was 64.9 cubic meters, in November it was 63.7 cubic meters, in December it was 25.8, and for January it was 47.7. The average is 55.9 cubic meters per month. The target was the average reduced to 20% less of our water consumption and the amount we would want to use instead of using an a lot more wasteful amount. Our target was 44.72 cubic meters per month.
